The ever vibrant neighborhoods of Chelsea and the Meatpacking District are in a constant state of flux. Keeping up with the changing neighborhood can be a full time job, so I round up some notable happenings on a quarterly basis. Here is the latest news about Chelsea / Meatpacking.

Located at 214 West 15th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues, this building was part of the Nazareth Nursery Montessori School for years before being sold to luxury real estate firm Holliswood Development for $12.6 million. Chelsea Music Hall Debuts
Chelsea just got a lot more entertaining with the launch of the Chelsea Music Hall, located beneath the beloved Chelsea Market, on October 18th. Located at 407 West 15th Street, between Ninth and 10th Avenues, this new entertainment venue will host dinner theater, concerts, comedy shows and more. All these fun cultural occasions will be accompanied by the delicious food from the Market’s Israeli restaurant, Miznon. The special menu was created by Chef Eyal Shani, and contains only-in-New-York dishes like a bagel with shrimp salad. Meanwhile, Shani is planning to launch a flagship restaurant in March, located at 10th Avenue and 50th Street.
Intersect by Lexus Opens A New Cultural Space
If your life could use a little more culture, look no further than the brand new Intersect by Lexus, an experiential space home to a cafe, bar/lounge and restaurant, and private gallery. New York joins Tokyo and Dubai as the third cultural hub of the beloved car brand. Designed with the help of the Wonderwall design firm, the space has subtle touches of Lexus’ design aesthetic, seen in the leather seating and circular bar, which calls to mind a tire. The second-floor restaurant will feature a rotating cast of chefs, debuting a brand new menu every four to six months. First up is Parisian chef Gregory Marchand, known for his restaurant, Frenchie.

The Meatpacking District has increasingly become one of the city’s premiere fashion outposts, and the arrival of French fashion house Dior only solidifies its new reputation. The opening party, which took place on November 14th, featured life-size elephants and giraffes holding the brand’s famous saddle bags. The boutique also features an exclusive ABCDior personalization service that lets you customize your Dior bag.
