Antarctica, or the South Pole, is another place I think of when it snows in New York City as it finally did last week. The coldest, driest, and windiest continent is about twice the size of the United States of America and 98% of it is covered in ice about a mile thick, however it is still considered a desert because of the minimal precipitation it gets. There isn’t much life on and around Antarctica and the only people who live there year round are researchers, yet I highly recommend taking a trip to the “Southern Continent” when you get the opportunity. I hope you will enjoy photos from my 2012 trip.
